Who writes

The authors

The series began with the first four books by Andrea Lucio Posteraro and is open to invited authors, who bring their own discipline with the same editorial method.

Series creator and editor

Andrea Lucio Posteraro

A student of Building Engineering and Architecture at Sapienza University of Rome, the degree that holds architectural design and structural calculation together: the same two sides that give the series its name.

He conceived Progetto e Calcolo and wrote its first four volumes, from CAD drafting to parametric modelling, from artificial intelligence applied to design to the building site. He looks after the whole editorial system: layout, drawn plates, covers, print and digital editions.

The next volumes

Joining the series

Four professionals will be working with the series on its next volumes, each bringing their own discipline with the same method: from the basics to real cases, with examples you can check.

Structures and structural rehabilitation

Gianluca Pelucchini

Graduate in Civil Engineering. His interest is structures, with a particular focus on structural rehabilitation: assessing existing buildings, reading structural damage and choosing strengthening measures.

He will bring these subjects to the series with the approach of the first volumes: from theory to application, with calculation procedures that can be checked.

Architecture, graphics and visual arts

Francesca Zappalorto

Licensed architect. Alongside her training in design she has a steady interest in graphics and the visual arts, which shapes the way she composes and presents a project.

She will bring to the series care for representation and for the graphic quality of drawings, from the plate to the page.

Collaboration being finalised
Roads · drawing and regulations

Marco Canese

Graduate in Civil Engineering. His particular interest is roads, with attention to technical drawing and the regulatory framework: alignment, cross-sections, design drawings and reference standards.

He will bring these subjects to the series, opening the next volumes to road infrastructure design.

Collaboration being finalised
Mathematics

Andrea Cassano

Graduate in Civil Engineering. He has an interest in mathematics in all its facets, seen not only as a tool for calculation but as a discipline in its own right.

He will bring to the series the treatment of pure mathematics, exploring its potential and the rigour that underlies every technical procedure.

Book proposals

Propose a book

We are looking for handbooks that do for a discipline what the first books do for their tools: a complete path, from the basics to real cases, with examples that can be checked.

What to send

  • The subject of the book and the reader it is for
  • A provisional table of contents, one line per chapter
  • A sample chapter, or the material it would grow from (lecture notes, exercises, worked exam papers)
  • A few lines about you and your work

How we work

The series editor follows each book from the table of contents to print: content review, layout in the series format, drawings, cover, paperback and Kindle editions. Every book comes out with a preface by the series editor.
